The Mano Figa is one of our favorite motifs around here. The Figa fist has represented many things throughout time. As a pre-Renaissance figure the thumb, tucked between the pointer and middle finger represented fertility and feminine power. You can see it's a rather sexy gesture. As Christianity crossed the ocean to the new-world, this symbol traveled with it but took on a new meaning. It has become a charm to protect against the evil-eye and to bring good luck. This contemporary charm is made of exotci hardwood and comes, candy-style, in a thin paper wrapper.
