Berber Hamsa Necklace
This is an outstanding example of Kabyle Berber jewelry from the Atlas Mountains. Overall it has a wonderful scale and gravitas. But to me the individual elements really make this piece sing. It has several styles of hamsa hands, black coral beads embedded wth silver from Mauritania (one of my favorite beads), rich antique coral and vibrant enamel. The elements are varies and I'm sure collected over time to string together this wonderful and worldly necklace.
