Invisible Cities

Ariana Boussard-Reifel's namesake collection is jewelry, inspired by the ancient and reimagined for modern life. All our designs are produced by hand using sustainable and ethical practices in New York City.

This first collection is inspired by the 1972 novel Invisible Cities by Italo Calvino. The tale places us in the midst of a conversation between Marco Polo and Kublai Khan as Polo describes the beauty and sadness of the cities he has seen. This jewelry is born from a sense of wanderlust. And like the novel, it merges East and West, tradition and exploration.  Each piece is named after a city that Polo visits.

“Arriving at each new city, the traveler finds again a past of his that he did not know he had: the foreignness of what you no longer are or no longer possess lies in wait for you in foreign, unpossessed places.”
Italo Calvino, Invisible Cities
