The Woodabee people of West Africa have a deep culture, with traditions unique and spectacular to their own small tribal group. Their sense of adornment is expressive and wild, and agnostic to the value of materials. This special necklace is made of glass leather and plastic, with hours of detail work, creating a fringe that could fit in the modern wing of the Met as well as the Saharan desert.
